Graphic Novels

Scott's Tip Of The Day: A comic book is a comic book. It doesn't matter if the story was adopted into a motion picture. It doesn't matter if it comes in hardcover. It doesn't matter if it's bound like a book. It doesn't matter if you bought it in a bookstore. It's still a comic book. Do you think you are less of a nerd because you call it a graphic novel instead of a comic book? Own up to your nerdiness! You may think you sound more sophisticated because you read graphic novels instead of comic books, but in reality you are just a sad, sad person in denial.... and everyone knows it. Kids read books with pictures. You are an adult. Grow up.

I still subscribe to Captain America, Fantastic Four, Spider Man and The Avengers. So screw you... But it's totally true. You kill me...

Did you watch Celebrity Apprentice last night? Is this what prompted you? They had a graphic novel focus group on last night to give the groups insight on how to create a "graphic novel" for some dot com store...this post cracks me up!

I do watch celebrity apprentice. a combination of that and the new Watchmen movie that's out prompted this post. I would wait till Watchmen comes out on DVD if any of you are considering going to it...

Isn't a Graphic Novel a porn mag?

Scott said...

No
A graphic novel is not a porn mag. I suppose one could be pornographic but generally this is not the case. At least not from what I have seen. I don't know what you are up to in your spare time MOB!! ;-)

I refuse to grow up! I accept my nerd-ness and I OWN it!I will not give up on my comic books (although I don't have a problem with the term graphic novel, I do think that it's a bit misleading... I prefer the term comic book)

That's right!

So there!

If graphic novels are anything like the movie Watchmen then MOB may be right, they might actually be more like a porn mag. There was an over-abundance of male nudity in that movie.
